Tell me.... who's it gonna be, who sets Magness Arena on fire?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17196208.post-8090426950882551502011-04-15T13:11:49.229-06:002011-04-15T13:11:49.229-06:00Actually, getting Donovan and Shore on the third t...Actually, getting Donovan and Shore on the third team nationally is a great achievement. DU was a top 5-to-7 team nationally, and to get 2 players in the top 18 is great.

Zucker was runner-up to Tynan at ND as USCHO R.O.Y. - Tynan had a better year than Zucker, and CC's Jaden Schwartz would have beaten them both had he not been hurt..

Ostrow was a better than average WCHA player and a fine captain, but not all-WCHA level player, let alone nationally.

Brittain was among the best rookie goalies in the country, but he wasn't in the top 3 nationally in any category/ Perhaps he was in the top 10 nationally, but not top 3. That's great for a freshman to be top 10.

Bennett had a slow start, and showed some flashes of brilliance at times, but his production was not among top rookies. He wouldn't be in the top 6 rookies, so how would you see him in the top 18 players?

Ryder is a big hitter and a a serviceable WCHA defender, but not really an elite level player, and he's simply not in any kind of WCHA level all-conference talk, let alone nationally. Ryder has gone from a lightly regarded walk-on to a regular player at an eltire program. That's more than anyone could expect. Walk-ons rarely become all-Americans. Gilroy at BU was the last one I remember...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17196208.post-10191736937191404342011-04-15T10:54:54.530-06:002011-04-15T10:54:54.530-06:00What a hose job we got on the USCHO awards.
