A DU degree costs $200,000 and these guys on full rides are getting them tax free.

That too is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Lets not kid ourselves, are players going to come back in six or eight years when they have wives/families and complete their degrees?

Without a degree you can't get about 80% of the jobs out there. You can't even teach or coach hockey in any type of school setting.

You have to totally respect what Chevy did. Got his degree in three years and went pro early. Best of both worlds.dggoddardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00745826019598020062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17196208.post-90976173968364029652011-03-09T14:20:12.636-07:002011-03-09T14:20:12.636-07:00Your only young once and if your dream is to play ...Your only young once and if your dream is to play professionally, how can a young man pass that up? Few players are hurt by more development time at the college level.

But when your dream is to be an NHL hockey player and your NHL team is waving big money at you to sign and telling you that you have a shot at the big club, most players sign. I can't blame them at all.puck swaminoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17196208.post-35849756191287198162011-03-09T08:31:52.995-07:002011-03-09T08:31:52.995-07:006'4", 185 lbs. is slim. Needed more strength at the next level and I'm sure the confidence level also played a part, but you know the next part--he should have stayed at DU for another year to build strength and maturity.vizoroohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16439268429771664262noreply@blogger.com
