For the second time this season, University of Denver goaltender Marc Cheverie has been named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week, this time for December 2-7. He also earned the weekly honor back on Nov. 11.

A pair of first-year players who played key roles while helping their respective teams to Thanksgiving weekend sweeps - forward Joe Colborne of the University of Denver and defenseman Jake Gardiner of the University of Wisconsin - are WCHA co-Rookies of the Week for Dec. 2-7, 2008.

Nice job Joe! I believe he has 11 points now through 15 games. Not too bad for a freshman......
