Just as coach George Gwozdecky and his staff hoped in September, a fine group of freshmen has eliminated the University of Denver's fear of chalking up 2010-11 as a rebuilding season.
Given that DU lost four of its top five scorers, an all-America goalie and nine players overall from its WCHA regular-season title team of 2009-10, the program's ability to sustain a high level of success has to be credited to its young replacements [read rest of article].

Well, the unleashing of the Mermis is just icing on the cake. That kid is an animal!!

ReplyDeleteI follow Mermis each time he hits the ice. He gives it 110%! I would take him any day over someone like Colburne who didn't have his head in the game half the time.
ReplyDeleteI think if Nicky keeps up his hard work, he will finish the season very strong in points and goals.... and he could be quite a hot topic in the NHL Draft
