LetsGoDU Looks At College Mascots - Part I

(above) University of Oklahoma's Sooner Schooner

The official mascot of the University of Oklahoma Sooners is the Sooner Schooner. Schooners are the covered wagons early settlers* traveled in. So while Oklahoma fans get fired up by watching the Sooner Schooner, DU fans, alumni & students are inspired by the "arched Denver logo."

*early settlers are like Pioneers, but obviously less racist

    The arched Denver logo does inspire me -- to want to smack Coombe's glasses right of his face.
