Luck Of The Irish: Tornado Misses Joyce Center

(left) Most Minnesota high school rinks have more bells & whistles than Notre Dame's Joyce Center

Despite the 4-3 victory over Denver on Thursday night, Notre Dame hockey fans couldn't help feeling melancholy after the game when a tornado narrowly missed the Joyce Center and instead carved a trail of destruction through nearby Nappanee, IN.

The Joyce Center was evacuated during the second intermission because of a tornado warning, but the game was delayed only a few minutes. If the tornado had hit the Joyce Center, Notre Dame could finally start building their long awaited "hockey palace."

Cruddy rink, but terrific band.

Notre Dame has a hockey team, now they just need a rink! But they are going to renovate it and be renamed after the first Notre Dame Hockey coach. I don't know how much bigger it will be, but I assume that the seats will be permanent instead of the pull out bleachers
