That, my friend, is AWESOME! LMAO.

While I appreciate the intent of the image I do find it somewhat disgusting. Couldn't you have a child with a box of crayons depict some comical version of the same?

For a really 'awesome' impression why not post the pictures of the actual gutting while you at it?

It is important to note that no animals were actually harmed in the making of this Blog.

This photo is a "stunt bear" and we believe is actually University of Maine goaltender Ben Bishop wearing his Halloween costume.

Anon:
DG didn't kill the bear. He didn't take the picture. He didn't post the picture on the Internet for people like him to find. He didn't name the Maine team.

He simply brought all those wonderful aspects together in the best tradition of opportunism. He might be a sleazy capitalist concerned only with ratings but the saving grace is that he is entirely unabashed about it all.

Well done DG. If our highest journalism prize can be named after a notorious rabble rousing yellow newspaper guy then I think we can deal with the reality of a dangling omnivore on the big series of tubes.

As DG's attorney I can assure you that he is guilty as charged. The man has no shame.

I didn't shoot the bear, but I did shoot the Deputy.

I may be Guilty as Charged, but I could have used a more "spirited" defense. :-)

VERY LARGE DU FAN. NOT A FAN OF THE BEAR BEING HUNG. EXPLAIN TO THE 7 YR OLD JR HOCKEY PLAYER HOW THIS IS SPORTSMANSHIP TO HANG THE OTHER TEAM'S MASCOT. NOT TOO AWESOME TO HIM.

Try this:

This is just a picture pulled off of the internet from a proud hunter who was showing off his kill right before he gutted and cleaned it.

These fans, they are not players, are taunting the other team as a measure to gain a mental edge (doesn't usually work) and bringing some humor into sports considering that most take it way too seriously.

Plus a child should always try to do what they know to be right or at least judge a person's actions by how they would feel if someone were doing it to them.

Father-of-a-5-year-old-girl-who-thought-it-was-pretty-funny.

Anon,

Thanks for the heads up on "sportsmanship."

According to the website:

http://www.justsayhi.com/bb/blog_rating

LetsGoDU is rated "PG."

Children should NOT be reading this Blog if parents are concerned about mild curse words, graphic imagery or sportsmanship.

The DU Athletic Department, the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News sites are far better sites for children.

This Blog is written by rabid college hockey fans and is intended for rabid college hockey fans.

I'll add a "PG" warning to LetsGoDU's Sidebar Introduction.
