CSTV.com Editor Has DU At #1 In Weekly Poll

Elliot Olshansky is an editor for CSTV.com and a regular contributor for men's and women's ice hockey. Each season he travels around the country and sees almost all of the 59 Division I hockey programs in action. So far this season he's seen 15 teams play and each week he ranks them.

Our DU Pioneers weigh in at #1 this week.

Its important to note that Olshansky is "Pro-Boone."
1. Denver: The Pioneers have ascended to the top of the Rink Rat Rankings for several reasons, not the least of which is that they decisively swept a Minnesota State team that has been a thorn in the Pioneers' collective side over the last few years. It's also worth noting that Peter Mannino now has a higher save percentage than Jean-Philippe Lamoureux, and Lamoureux's phenomenal early-season performance was a big part of the Sioux's top billing in the Rink Rat Rankings. Speaking of Mannino, have you noticed that his pads have a picture of Denver Boone's face up near the top? Very cool gesture by one of the former mascot's most outspoken advocates. Personally, I think that if he keeps playing like this, the mascot should be whatever he darn well pleases.
