Former University of Denver Pioneers playing in the NHL:
* C Paul Stastny ( Avalanche) - Burst onto NHL scene last season after spending two seasons at DU. Named to NHL All-Rookie team after recording 78 points, second most among all rookies. The son of Hall of Famer Peter Stastny has continued his torrid pace this season, beginning campaign with a hat trick in the opener, posting eight points in the first three games and leading Colorado in points.
* D Matt Carle (San Jose Sharks) - DU's 2005-2006 team captain and 2006 Hobey Baker Award winner signed a four-year extension with Sharks. Named to NHL All-Rookie team last season after compiling 11 goals and 31 assists in 77 games.
* LW Matt Pettinger (Washington Capitals) - Most experienced former Pioneers player in NHL has scored more than 50 goals in seven seasons with Capitals. Logged his 300th NHL game earlier this year. Posted career bests of 20 goals and 18 assists in 2005-06.
* G Wade Dubielewicz (New York Islanders) - DU's all-time leader in goals-against average (2.20) and saves percentage (.923) is Rick DiPietro's backup in the Big Apple. Dubielewicz made his NHL debut in 2004 and made a start in the playoffs last season for Islanders.
