I believe that the total fan vote counts the same as a vote from one committee member. So, in essence, if there are 100,000 votes cast your vote is worth approximately 1/100,000th of a real vote. Us fans are real difference makers.
On a side note, I can't wait for my word verification to come up with ccsux...
