Minnesota state senator David Tomassoni took a few minutes out of his hectic weekend schedule to drop by the LetsGoDU Pep Rally at Spanky's on Saturday afternoon. Senator Tomassoni was in Denver for the US Hockey Hall of Fame weekend festivities. Dave made a few comments to several hundred DU fans in attendance.
Over 260 DU students, alums and hockey fans attended the Pep Rally at Spanky's Roadhouse on East Evans before heading over the Magness Arena on Saturday night.
Tomassoni played for DU from 1972-75 before playing professional hockey in Italy for 16 years. He played for Italy in the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo.
Besides being a Democratic Senator representing District 5 in Minnesota, Tomassoni volunteers his time heading up the US Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minnesota.
Dave's brother was a hockey goaltender at Notre Dame, so bragging rights are back where they belong with the Pioneer alum.

Dave had a little more hair on the roof last time I saw him :)
Very cool of Tomassoni to stop by, and cool of the students to receive him with cheers and respect as a fellow Pioneer.
