Boone Shirts Appear Deep In WCHA's Heartland

(above) "Cardinal" dressed in a snappy Bring Back Boone shirt, stands in front of the University of Minnesota's banners at Mariucci Arena

(above) Minnesota Gopher uber fan "Fire Helmet Guy" stands in front of Duluth's lone tourist attraction, the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge

Things are sure to get ugly this week between Pioneer and Gopher fans. That you can count on. But there is one thing we can all agree on, "Bring Back Boone."

Do you have a photo of Boone in an unusual or interesting location? Email us the pictures and we'll post them.

Fire hat guy is a UMD fan, not a Gopher fan...

I'm pretty sure that he's a Gopher fan, since I think he's coming into Denver this weekend for the Gopher game. But I could be wrong, so correct me.

Maybe there's two fire hats in Minnesota. :-)

I am indeed a Gopher fan. I'm sure Anon must be either Cardinal or Bert. lol.

So what are the odds they would bring Boone back, is there a petition started or something. Seems odd they would have ever gotten rid of him.

Whoa, slow news week?

I wonder if anyone at tToga would wear a Boone shirt? Also, FHG is DEFINITELY a tUMD fan.

FHG often has that expression and pose when he's around little children, but there's usually nothing on under the coat.

If I was DU fan/alum, I would want Boone back. It is similar to our logo issue with the NCAA. They are "picking" on "certain" people.

I've come to face it, that UND will most likely loss the name and logo. But where does this all end, do people who are actually cowboys find it offensive that people use their name and imagery? Should they change their names, so not to offend them?

Any way, I say fight for Boone. Not just for your rights, but because he is also a cool looking PIONEER!

After seeing what we've gone through in Denver with Boone, I'm not so sure UND is going to lose the logo issue.

When a bunch of "outsiders" are telling you what to do and the people most passionate about the school are holding firm. Who are you going to side with?

You can always find people to criticize you but replacing passionate volunteers and doner$$$ is a much harder battle.

It would help their cause if the critics came up with some good logo ideas.

Anyway Go Boone & Go Sioux.
