Mannino Called Up To NHL In Backup Role

(above) DU Alum Peter Mannino was called up to the NY Islanders on Thursday night

From: NY Islanders Website

The New York Islanders announced Thursday that goaltender Peter Mannino has been recalled from Bridgeport. Meanwhile goaltender Yann Danis has been re-assigned to Bridgeport probably to get some work.

Expect regular goaltender Joey MacDonald to start all three games on the upcoming road trip. In all likelihood Mannino will be sent back down to Bridgeport in a couple of days when Danis shakes the rust off.

Since Mannino began his professional career with the Bridgeport Sound this season he has been one of the hottest goaltenders in the AHL (6-1-1 with a 2.46 Goals Against Average).

I wonder if we can convince Dubielwicz to put Boone on his gear to take Boone international.
