After a stoppage of play with 4:01 left in the second overtime, referees reviewed on video replay a shot by Vermont's Dan Lawson with 5:50 left. They ruled it in fact had gone underneath the cross bar and through the net, even though play had continued.

It sucks to see Air Force go down the way they did yesterday. They did give it everything they had though and put up one hell of a fight.
Vermont's goal was just wicked... I can't recall a faster shot ever in a hockey game. It says something when the players, refs, nor fans could react to it and to add even further the camera could barely keep up with it only showing a very short streak. It was the right call to make.
Let's be real.... anderson and hunt can't follow a puck even if it is bouncing across the ice.
Too bad for AF. Great effort this year. By far the best team in Colorado Springs!
Ya they couldn't follow a puck if their life depended on it... but in all honesty I don't think there was a single one of us that would of saw that one.
What a shame. I was really hoping to see AF earn a berth in the FF. All Falcons fans should be very proud of their team.
Shame to see AF go but that was one of the most unreal and sick shots I've ever seen in a hockey game. My jaw was dropped that whole time they were reviewing it. O_O
The Falcon fans are proud... if in doubt, go to a home game down there. They actually pay attention AND cheer for their team. DU hockey is my first love, but going to an AF game makes me realize what hockey is about. Well worth the drive from Denver to go to a game down there. Hockey the way it should be! (at least from a fans perspective)
