Once again several DU Alums in their 60's will participate in the 2009 Snoopy World Hockey Tournament in Santa Rosa, California. For the third year in a row, Hockey'sFuture.com writer DJ Powers will be writing exclusive stories for LetsGoDU about our alumni team.The DU Alums vs. University of Michigan Alumni, the final game in the 60A division, takes place on Wednesday, July 15 at 7:45 am. As usual Michigan head coach Red Berenson is expected to lead the Wolverine Alums.
DU is the defensing champions in the "Marcy Division" after defeating Michigan last year.
This year, the Snoopy Tournament officially gets underway on Saturday, July 11, which is a day earlier than in previous years.
“I want our players to get a sense of those who built the Denver hockey traditions. DU has a wonderful hockey legacy and we don’t do enough to celebrate it. We can’t think of a better way of opening the 2009/2010 season than with all of our Denver Hockey Alumni in attendance.”- Coach George Gwozdecky

When all the hockey alums come here in october for the reunion it would be great to see them play some type of exhibition between the Vermont game periods for a few minutes. There are some great one in that group.
I'm almost certain they'll play a lite game sometime Saturday morning.
With the heavy cocktail schedule planned, I'd guess they'll be in no condition to skate in the evenings. :-)
The Ultimate Orange/Lemon Shootout will be held at Magness on Saturday of that weekend between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Players from all eras will participate in the event.
DG--these guys would skate even better with a little "lubrication" beforehand!!
Not too many fans will be there Saturday at 11:30. It would be an honor for them to once more skate in front of a packed house. They wolud get a tremendous ovation.They can still do the saturday afternoon game.
The alumni players are going to be introduced between the 1st and 2nd periods of Saturday night's game.
ultimate orange/lemon contest sounds great. Might have to start drinking early and head over to Magness
Ok we have three months to rally the LetsGoDU blog faithful to turn out for the Orange/Lemon Shootout. Let's "pack the house" for them.
Make sure Boone is at the shootout
Shouldn't be too difficult to publicize the event but DU really needs to get involved as well.

Trust me when I say this - the guys can drink! Even if they are up in their years.
As I mentioned in my email to you, once the insanity of the NHL Draft dies down, I'll do some brainstorming and shoot over some story ideas for you to look over.
