Not to take away from the "put Boone on the jersey" stuff, but this ranking is total BS. I'm not exactly sure what they're ranking on, but Bemidji isn't even in the WCHA yet and they magically did away with Nebraska Omaha.
And come on...Michigan Tech's boring black jersey is better than ours? Right...

UAA is commended for having a realistic bear. I'm curious how that is helpful. Maybe DU also needs a realistic bear.

I don't think DU's sweater is the worst in the league, but it certainly could use some improvement. They are too benign and bland. I like the color scheme, but an old school Boone or Pioneer on the front would be an improvement. Even a cool "D" would be nice.
There's no way UAA has the 3rd best sweater. I like the Seawolf nickname a lot, but the animal on the front of their jerseys is hideous. Someone needs to come up with a better design than that for a wolf. And I think the Sioux have the best sweater, hands down.
At least now the jerseys have DU on the shoulders instead of that goofy bird/toupee which has nothing to do with a Pioneer.

The school has many more things to worry about than a mascot that will not come back.
This Blog has had 480,000 visits in just under four years. So somebody is reading this.
The same people who don't want Boone back at DU are the same people who have raised tuition every single freakin' year despite the economy.
We had 25 alums, parents and fans donate over $8,000 to build the Boone costume last year. They obviously care about the school and the mascot issue.
We are the Pioneers, we need a mascot that looks like a Pioneer. DU is virtually the only school in the country without a mascot. Is it because our Chancellor is too weak to stare down a couple of radical faculty members?
I'll keep writing the Blog and you just keep doing whatever it is that you do.

This university has graduated THOUSANDS of alumni. If Boone was such a big deal to them, you would see tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars dedicated to this cause, by a larger number of alumni.
Yes, we are the Pioneers. We need to create a mascot that fulfills our school spirit, and is widely acceptable to everyone, while Boone is not.

I always find it amazing how Boone's opponents have provided no visual alternative to Boone beyond their verbal criticism. At least DG and other readers of this site were able to fund, create and train a viable Mascot alternative to the Hawk, which is far more than any Boone opponent has done to date.
