The University of Denver women's soccer team defeated Arkansas-Little Rock 1-0 in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Boca Raton, Fla., on Saturday to win its fourth consecutive conference championship.

DU's Jessie Rogers, a junior from Poudre High School, scored the lone goal in the 21st minute, and the Pioneers didn't allow the Trojans a shot on goal during the second half. DU freshman goalkeeper Lara Campbell finished the shutout with four saves.

It's the seventh time in the last nine years DU has won the Sun Belt Tournament. Saturday's win puts the Pioneers back in the NCAA Tournament. The 64-team bracket will be announced Monday.

Nice comeback for a DU women's team that is not as dominant as in past years - let's see if they can pull an upset in the tourney...

I hope they don't have to play New Mexico.

Rest assured, if DU has to play New Mexico, that ULTRA-GOON won't be playing. I heard she was suspended indefintely, and if UNM plays her at any point this season, it will show that they have no pride or decency.

Most of the poster 'bracketologists' on the Big Soccer forum are predicting that DU will be sent to the Portland (Ore.) regional to probably face Oregon State, and should they get by the Beavers, they would play the winner of top-seeded Portland and Boise State to advance. DU lost to OSU already this year in Corvalis, so revenge will be on the docket....

achsdu......no doubt. I'm ok with a good catfight, especially when both individuals are in lingerie, but that gal from NM took it a little far......

I do find it a bit ridiculous that this woman from UNM has had to apologize more so than that loser Zidane did for his lack of sportsmanship of a couple years ago, and he flat out knocked someone out in a game. OVER A "YOUR MOMMA" JOKE!!! Middle School anger FTL.

I'm sure she's not proud of it by any stretch of the imagination but its not going to be the last time that someone lets their anger get the best of them in a competitive activity.

Personally - it doesn't disgust me in any way; it shouldn't happen but anyone who has played a sport understands that dirty things happen alllll the time.

I do want to know what that Mormon broad said to get her do lower herself to that level though....

We'll probably never know for sure, but I don't think it was "Have you heard the good news? God loves you."

Pios get a little screwed, having to open against Portland in Portland. Portland is a true #1 seed that got a little screwed themselves by not getting a top seed.
