Sorry Amy; I wholeheartedly agree with the idea. Hell, I'd gladly pay higher ticket prices for that. Maybe this would be a good way to offset the seemingly-repetitive post season lacklustre and off season blues for us fans? If I got to look at that 23 or 25 times a season.....I could accept not making the FF. If the team continued to lead the nation, that would be just a bonus
Of course the majority of people on this blog aren't going to agree with me on this. Most of the people who post are guys.
There is a place for an ice crew at hockey games but certainly not ice cheerleaders. I don't care if people think its eye candy...it's completely unnecessary and stupid.
Here is a link to a story about Rangers goalie Henrik Lundquist hacking one of the NY Islanders Ice Girls because she wanted to remove the snow from his crease a few years ago. Supposedly Sean Avery was the unanmed Ranger who spit on one of them from the bench. The Islandesr Ice Girls have been staples for at least the last 5 or so years at the Nassau Coliseum.
I think Cheerleaders have no place at a hockey game. If a woman is going to be on the ice she'll have a hockey stick in her hands, a kick ass attitude and ready to play.
If DU wants to do something productive, why don't they put their money towards something productive like the band and stop being stuck up on certain issues... ex. Boone
Why doesn't the WCHA make them clear snow from the crease during timeouts like they do in the NHL? The only thing I've seen at DU is them clearing snow from in front of the benches??? I'm surprised the league hasn't incorporated this yet. They want to be so much like the NHL in alot of other areas. That all started with the dumb idea that the goalie would pile it up and have an advantage thruought the game. You'd think of all the NCAA leagues - that the WCHA would be all over that. I guess they'll change it when it becomes a problem in thier lap.... empty net tie game in the Final 5.... and the even-strength team gets a long shot to the empty net and it's stopped by a pile of snow....... don't think it can't happen.... that's why the NHL does it!

I think if they look like the ones that DG put on the front, I am all for them.
Too much hot tail at DU not to take advantage of ice cheerleaders!!!
