They're crazy if they don't make Sam and Adam duke it out for the #1 spot. Brittian just might come in here in a couple weeks and give the Coaches a textbook goalie clinic performance in thier practices and opening weekend. DU usually fares pretty good when they come out and say "so and so has to earn the right to be a starter".... and the Goalies are no different. Adam & Sam are going to feed off each other like crazy - you watch.
Murray is getting a great education worth $40,000 per year. If he can't earn equal time with Brittain this season, you've got to think that the best option would be to get a degree and plan for the future.
That being said, the only Freshman goaltender in recent memory who was stud his freshman year was Mannino, and he was a 20 year-old Freshman. Murray and Brittain are 19 & 18 y.o. respectively.

"Adam Murray...veteran...goaltender"
Those words must bring fear to the hearts of DU fans.
Prepare for a long season, I guess.
Chevy and Fisher both had rough starts to their DU careers and ended up being very good goalies, and in Chevy's case, All-American.
A little early to throw in the towel on Adam.
bill simmons is talking to a UND grad a bit about ncaa hockey and the wcha on the BS report

I am sure the coaches will play both goalies until someone earns the #1 slot.
I was at practice Monday and Murray looked awful. Sam will win the spot quickly (I hope)
How did Sam look?
I've heard Brittain is looking good in practice.
He was one of just 14 goalies selected to Team Canada's Goaltender Camp in June.
this may be jumping ahead of ourselves, but if Sam is named #1, do you think Murray will stick around next year?

Sam looked solid. He's tall and uses his pads to seal off the low stuff much like Chevy. Murray has no shot.
