Mike Chambers' Denver Post Blog has an update on Beau Bennett's injury sustained on Friday night in Duluth. More will be known by Tuesday, but the injury may not be as serious as previously feared.
Most DU hockey fans remember that Tyler Bozak's injury was not initially thought to be too serious in 2008. Even Bozak himself was not too worried at the time, until they doctors took an MRI. Later it was discovered that he tore the meniscus in his left knee and this caused him to miss more than half of the Pioneers season.
The obvious difference between the two injuries was that Bozak suffered a knee on knee collision with a Minnesota State player at full speed, while Bennett reportedly just went down after perhaps skating on some rutted ice with no other players around him.
