From: Puck Daddy

WIVB News 4 in Buffalo has confirmed that the Russian world junior champs were removed from a Delta Airline flight this morning at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Delta Airlines spokeswoman Susan Elliott released a statement:
"The crew of flight 1266 (BUF-ATL) opted to deny boarding to 30 passengers displaying unruly behavior to ensure the safe operation of the flight. These passengers will be rebooked on a future flight."
WGRZ-TV in Buffalo defined "unruly" in its report:
According to police, the players were thrown off of a Delta flight scheduled to leave Buffalo-Niagara International Airport because members of the team were intoxicated. Team members were seen sitting in the baggage claim area after their flight took off.

That third period was an amazing display. The canadians were in complete control and then --BOOM!! It looked like they went into shock after the first two goals. Trauma might not be too strong a word. The Russians started flying by them lika a MIg.21 goes by a Cessna. it was a good demonstration of how mental controls physical. Very exciting to watch.

The Russian dog-pile after they won was SO awesome. I loved watching those random kids getting their faces right up in the camera and yelling random Russian jibberish at us. Classic!

I had an email this morning from a business associate in Moscow. She loved the ending of the game...obviously. We had hoped that it was going to be the USA and Russia in the final as we had a side bet going should that have happened. I emailed her this morning telling her that her team was too drunk to fly this morning. I don't think she will be surprised.

I see they broke the law. Book them.

Actually, they didn't. The whole team is in fact over 21 and will have their medals stripped later today.

Bummer that the US team blew a tire on Monday. I switched channels on Wed night because I thought that there was no stopping our up-North neighbours. Oops. By the way, do they require the kids in Russia to wear protective mouth gear? I am sure that its the last thing that they are worried about, but man, some of those summer teeth look worse than Austin Powers.

444- Grow up Peter Pan. The USA kids would have done the same had they won.

Really? Didn't hear any stories after they won last year?

3.18- The drinking age in Saskatchewan was 19, therefore when they no doubt went out and celebrated, most of the players were able to drink legally. Legal drinking=nobody cares, therefore no "stories".
