DU Recruit Zac Larraza Named To Team USA

USA Hockey today announced the 22-player roster for the 2011 U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men’s U18 Championship from April 14-24, in Crimmitschau and Dresden, Germany.

University of Denver 2011 recruit Zac Larraza was the only DU recruit named to the team.

Team USA will look to win its third consecutive gold medal after capturing the world title in 2010 in Minsk and Bobruisk, Belarus, and in 2009 in Fargo, N.D., and Moorhead, Minn.

Does anybody think we have any chance at landing Seth Jones? Probably, less of a chance now that Justin Jones left DU in January.

What's the scouting report on Larraza? Will he be an impact player?

With 6 goals and 3 assists in 24 USHL games for the USNDT, it looks like he's more of a "project" or defensive forward.

Will be interesting to see where he is taken in the NHL Draft this Summer.

Prob a 3rd liner next season. Projected as a 4th round pick in this summers draft.
