Good chance DU will place 3 players in the tourney. Zucker and N. Shore on Team USA and Great Brittain on Team Canada.

Surprised that Mayfield wasn't invited. The US program has come a long way,

Zucker's resume is amazing. When is the last time Team USA had a player make the team 3 years in a row?

Im shocked more of our team was not invited. Brittain should be a shoe in to make the Canadian team

There's really no one else from DU that could of been selected.

Makowski & Bennett are too old for the Tournament.

If any of the incoming Freshmen had a huge first half of the season at DU they could always be invited to the camp in December [Didier, Mayfield, Doremus or Larazza.

Brian Lee from 2005 to 2007 played for the WJC USA team.

We have to have more players than anyone else that have made this team correct?

I'd say no. Really, not even close. Teams like Michigan, BC, BU, UND, Gophs, Wisc always place guys on the team.

It's only recently (say since 2004) that we've consistently gotten blue chip recruits that would be considered for the national team.

Lamian,

You have a very educated fans on this blog...."Im shocked that more of our team was not invited"......seriously?

Imaws is correct.

This tourney is in it's 32nd or 33rd year and it wasn't until Matt Carle came that we really ever had players considered. The past 7 or 8 years, we have been placing guys pretty consistently, however we barely had any players come under consideration through the 80s and 90s.

Noob fans...

"You have a very educated fans on this blog"

Your butchering of the English language points to a lack of education on your behalf...

With the Big Ten Conference on the horizon we probably will see less WCHA players playing for team USA.

... unless there is an even better Big 6.

DU had its red vest event. Several current and prior hockey players are in the slide show. The Shores, Pauko, Ulanksi, Chevy, etc.

In case anyone doesn't check USCHO. Someone over there posted that the Canadian goalie coach at the camp Brittain is attending....tweeted that Brittain was injured, had surgery already, and will be rehabing for 8 weeks. Did not post any other details.

Further to my post above. The below is from USCHO forum.... FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know what Marcoux wrote, but per DU, surgery is the 17th. DU_Hockey is Denver SID Erich Bacher and knee surgery generally requires some swelling reduction first.

DU_Hockey Denver Hockey
@sbrittain1 to have surgery on left knee on Friday, June 17. Brittain has torn ACL and meniscus. He is expected to be out 6-8 months

This could be a season-killing injury for the Pioneers.
