Zucker is going into "Beast Mode." I take that as a very good sign for DU's chances tonight.

Love beast mode when Zucker is maxmizing his skills, speed, strength and hockey sense, but don't like the stupid penalaties he sometimes takes when he can't pull himself back from the edge...

Gotta be smart.

Skinner's tweet to Gwoz about the Bruce Springstein story: I remember hearing that story a few years ago but I don't remember the specifics. Does anyone else recall?

Supposedly Gwoz saw Springstein play in the Pepsi Center. Springstein gives 110% at every concert night after night.

Message to the boyz when you play WCHA cupcakes. Give 110% every night even if you are playing a bunch of whiney Nancyboyz like Michigan Tech.

I thought there was more to it. Like seeing him 30 years ago in Wisconsin at his first concert or something like that?

I'm sure there is more to it and you are probably right about Madison. I think one of the components of the story is that it takes a really long time to tell it.

I think Gwoz was at Wisconsin as a student in the mid '70s just as Bruce was starting to go from Jersey-club obscurity to a well-known regional/national musician, but well before he blew up into an music icon in the 1980s. Gwoz went to one of Bruce's shows back in the 70s, and still ranks Bruce as his favorite musician.

Springsteen played every arena show with the same intensity of his club gigs, and always gave the fans more than their money's-worth. And if you have seen a live Springsteen show, you know what I mean. Anyway, that Jersey-style blue collar work ethic is something the Gwoz always wants his players to emulate - hard driving, going the distance and giving it all.
