DU 3 - Bemidji State 2 FINAL

(Above) DU wins while UND & CC lose on Friday night
Juho saves DU again
.With star winger Beau Bennett back home resting a surgically repaired wrist, it was all hands on deck for the University of Denver in Bemidji, MN on Friday evening.  Jason Zucker and Drew Shore pulled out the victory and DU won a dramatic come-from-behind thriller over Bemidji State 3-2.

Zucker scored his second goal with less than eight minutes remaining to tie the game.  Just under three minutes later, Drew Shore scored the game winner.

Goaltender Juho Olkinuora recorded his second career victory with 21 saves.

Shawn Ostrow received a deep cut around his skate that sounded very serious, but he was able to return in the third period.

Pios ground out a 3-2 victory in Bemidji after falling behind 2-1 and losing Shawn Ostrow to bleeding-through-his-skate injury, and coming back with 2 goals in the third to win it.

Zucker is carrying this team right now.

DU stole this game.

This game was one of those games that good teams find a way to win when things aren't going very well.

Pios are running out of bodies....Brittain, Murray, Ryder, Bennett and now Ostrow out,

what the hell, makowski gives a penalty shot in overtime against CC, then comes out of the box and doesn't go play D and almost gives away the game-winner??? c'mon man!

glad Ostrow's OK, heal well Bennett. Brittain back soon!

Looks like Ostrow cam back, Thank god.

The America One service was insanely bad ... I strongly recommend against it. Took almost two full periods to get it working, required three downloads of software, it's awful.

Big 2 points tonight for the boys. They grinded out this win with a nice come from behind victory.

Bemidji plays the "Princeton Offense" of college hockey. Tons of passing, cycling the puck and waiting for the other team to get sloppy before striking for some quick goals.

Damn near worked tonight and its how they are able to spring some major upsets when seemingly overmatched in the NCAA Tourney.

Video was fine for me. Two downloads and 2 minutes later I had good (better than most) video for the whole game. I'm on a Mac and most of the video software is geared towards crap Windows, so if you are windows or osx it should have worked fine.

The CC Tiggers took it in the ass tonight against UAA. After going ahead 2-0 in the game at CSWA, UAA shoved a red hot special teams scoring poker in the the Tigers' collective sphincter. Final was a thorough 6-3 bitch-slapping on home ice.

Ouch.

If Zucker wasn't so lazy this would have been a walkover.

Phucking lazy-ass Zucker doesn't do anything! Ask MagnessMan! That lazy phucker needs to go to the 4th line a la MagnessMan's wise prognosis.

Phuck...MagnessMan wrecked any respect he could have. What a douche.

MagnessMan can SUCK IT along with Swami. SUCK NUTS MagnessMan and Swami

Taking it in the ass is a Colorado springs speciality...just ask Ted Haggard or CCtig or mexico or Randy May or dave29...they're all butt pirates down south

Aww, LPG (little peon girl) came out of her cave to interact with the world. Sweet dreams, honey.

Nice win, Pios! Get the sweep!!!

This win moves the Pios up to 19 from 22 in the P.W.R. The long climb is under way. Another win tonight will garner another 2 or 3 points. 10 or lower is needed to assure a tournament placement.

During the post-game interview, did I hear Gwozdecky call Juho Bullwinkle or Applewinder or something that??? LOL

Luckiest Win I've ever seen for the Pioneers. Out played heavily in the third before their goaltender gave the game away. This team is going nowhere this year!

Any more details on Patrick Wiercioch? I understand he is in the hospital after taking a very hard shot puck to the throat. I hope he is OK; hang in there Patty!

Sometimes you play bad and win (vs. Bemidji) and sometimes play good and lose (vs. Miami).

assdu17: Zucker was working hard last night. Watch how he plays without the puck, forechecking, sacraficing his body with big hits.

Shram: Makowski +3 with a great pass off a turnover for the GWG. Not a bad night.

Juho was very good. Both GA were good goals. Need the goaltender to come up big when the team doesn't have its A-game going.

The Coach switched his Fins in goal. He called Juno - Wallinheimo.
