NCAA Tourney: DU 16 - North Carolina 14

“When Matt Brown read off the list of offenses we were going to play tonight, I got tired listening. I think there were 17. By mixing it up, we felt like we could keep their defenders on their heels a little bit.”
- DU Head Coach Bill Tierney
The University of Denver came from behind to secure a thrilling 16-14 victory over #8 ranked University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday night.

Jeremy Noble was the player of the game with three goals and 10 points. Mark Matthews had five goals & Wes Berg each picked up a hat trick.

Chase Carraro won 23 of 31 face-offs in advancing to face top-seeded Loyola next weekend in the quarterfinals

Incredible win and with key contributions by so many players.

Also great to see DU play such an exciting brand of lacrosse.

Very exciting game. Carraro and Noble were in beast mode.

How come the bracket says 15-14. Did the last goal count, or not?

Still trying to figure that out. Many conflicting reports on the internet.

Great nite and win!! DU's last two wins are over Duke and UNC. How great is it that we now have 2 revenue sports that are factors each year on the national scale.

On to Annapolis!!

DU Lax tweeted final score was 16-14, empty netter counted.

TV showed it as 16-14, but announcers kinda missed it.

What a terrific, gutty road performance for DU!

After taking Loyola to OT last time, I would bet the Greyhounds are not all that happy to play us a third time.

On to Annapolis!

Fantastic win by the Pioneers.

DU should join the ACC! First, Duke goes down, then Carolina. Would love another shot at UVA or Maryland!
