Good luck to Jessica.

She got 18th place after being 43rd in Beijing in 2008. Congrats to Jessica!

That is super-impressive. Contracts to Jessica. She is the most impressive DU Olympian during the time that I have been following DU sports.

Could be wrong, but I'm guessing we've had skiers with more success.

Great job for Jessica though.

Paul Stastny won a silver in 2010 Vancouver.

Most impressive DU Olympian since Jerome Biffle won Gold in the 1952 Helskinki Long Jump and Vince Boryla won gold with USA Basketball in 1948 London.

Looks like she had a good vault coach the past four years--she went from 56th on vault in Beijing to 12th on vault in London. Pretty damn good!

Her coach is Nilson Savage...former DU assistant coach.

We have to have a pretty shot at getting Missy Franklin on the swim team anyone know where we stand?

Unless Missy's parents really want her to stay in Denver, I think the traditional powers would be her list==Cal, Florida, Georgia, USC, Stanford and Texas

DU never had any shot at Missy Franklin, although they tried to go recruit her.

From what I heard in March she's going to go to Stanford.

Most likely the only way DU is going to snag a once in a generation athlete like her, in a sport besides hockey or men's lax, is if the athlete's parents are alums.

FYI: The Shore brothers have DU alumni parents and Scott Mayfield's Dad went to DU Law School.

Good thing DG has the inside info on Missy the Denver Post is reporting her looking at Cal, USC or Georgia. Who would our once in a generation athletes be. I would have to say Matt Carle??
