DU Women's Soccer To Host NCAA Tourney Game

The University of Denver women's soccer team will host Colorado College in the NCAA Tournament First Round at CIBER Field at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium on Saturday at Noon MT.

The selection marks DU's first at-large NCAA bid, Denver's eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and the first home NCAA Tournament match for the women's soccer program.

Denver enters the tournament 15-2-4 with losses on either end of a 19-match unbeaten streak. The Pioneers were ranked as high as No. 18 in the Soccer America poll this year, and finished the regular season No. 19 in that poll.

The first-round clash is a rematch of both teams' 2012 opener, a match that the Tigers won 1-0 in Greeley, Colo., in the first game of the Second Annual Colorado Cup.

Congrats! When I saw that we play CC, I thought it was an easy first round match up. But then I saw that they beat us early in the season. Should be a good match, looking forward to attending.

Women's soccer is CC's flagship female sport. Its the only sport they play at the D-1 level unless you count the CC men's hockey team.

Which, of course, I don't.
