Wisconsin 3 - DU 1 FINAL

The University of Wisconsin defeated a depleted University of Denver lineup on Saturday night at Magness Arena.  DU trailed 2-1 heading into the last few minutes of the game, but was unable to work any last-minute magic despite having a 6 on 4 advantage.

A Wisconsin shorthanded empty-net goal sealed the game for the Badgers.

Congrats to Wisconsin on the three points. DU was lucky to walk away with one point. Clearly their goaltended was superb this weekend.

No wins in the last four games and a roadtrip coming up to North Dakota.

Christmas can't come soon enough.

Gwozdecky will have to work some extra special magic this week.

So what Colorado team got twice as many points on the weekend then Denver???? CC!!

Anonymous said...

Come on. Flounder wouldn't dare show up in GF. If you do, let know. We'll save 2 seats for you.

What Colorado team got swept by DU last month?

Anonymous said...

Hey 10.37 aren't your seats supersized to begin with for your own fat assed, mullet rockin, have no life inbred bred fans?

Who is 10th in the pairwise rankings and dropping like a rock??? Denver, that's who!

With a trip to N.D. coming up, the pairwise dropping is far from done for the pieholes.

Gotta love when the NoDak short bus arrives at Let's Go DU station.

@ 11:55

DU has won 3 out of their last 4 games in Grand Forks.

So, yeah...

Anonymous said...

@12:50,

Past performance is no indication of potential future gains.
You can comprehend that, right?

So, yeah....

It's December 2, people. Too early to say DU is great, and too early to say that going 0-3-1 the last 4 games is cause for too much concern. All in all, we've had a great start to the season. I would prefer to steamroll all competition and score 5 goals a game. But ya know, that's not realistic. I'd rather have the weaknesses exposed now, rather than later. We have the best coach in the league, and there is a lot of time to get things corrected. Kids probably need to realize that every game in the WCHA is a battle that takes hard work to win. Congrats to Wisconsin on taking 3 points on the road.

1:33, it's past performance is no "guarantee" of future results. Past performance is definitely an "indication" of future results. Humans use it in nearly every rational decision that we make.

Although, I will agree that DU's record in GF over the past two or three seasons is only loosely relevant to predicting DU's success this coming weekend.

The point is that the undie fan implied that DU doesn't/can't have success at the Ralph, when recent history proves otherwise

Anonymous said...

The Ralph will be rockin. DU better score first both nights.

Welcome to hornets nest, bitches!

Does DU even know what it's like to have 11k+ watching them? I was shocked at all the empty seats on Friday nights NATIONALLY TELEVISED game. Come on DU student body! I know you losers don't have any snow to ski on, so show up and support your team. God knows they needed you against the bottom of the WCHA.

I have never seen GF so hyped up for a non gopher weekend in a long time, and we're 5 days away!!!

Anonymous said...

"Welcome to hornets nest, bitches!"

lol. 4:32, how old are you? If you're a day over 15 I'd be shocked.

Are you 17 or are you a homo? What man writes fucking lol. Maybe mix in an OMG next time?

DU students are on Xmas Break from Thanksgiving until New Years.

It's always fun to play Seventh Dakota. But lets face it. You remove the home ice advantage, take away the fans and you're oh-so-special building.....line them up player to player - and Denver is the better hockey team. And I mean right now. What happened last year is history; what happens in March is anybody's guess. But right here, in December in a few days - DU has the advantage. Let me guess.... you Sioux fans completely agree with me, right? Good; end of story lol

I'm mildly impressed that 4:37 can even count to 5...

Dude,

You MUST STOP drinking the bong water. It is screwing with your cognitive thought processes.

@ 5:41

The "life long bachelor" that runs this blog doesn't appreciate the use of the word "homo" in a derogatory manner.

Anonymous said...

You just lost and tied Wisconsin AT HOME!!! How do you have an advantage??

DG students don't show up to games while class is in session, so don't use the break excuse. Nice showing on national TV. Magness has zero atmosphere. Probably the most boring place I have seen a game.

Anonymous said...

5:41, insulting someone by calling them a "homo". Grow up child. I'd put your age closer to 13 than 15. Be careful, your mom is probably tracking your online activity.

I hope that road series at Mankato prepped you for this weekend. Wonder how many PieHole fans checked the cancellation clause on their Pittsburgh hotel reservations today?

Any chance the UND series will be available on Denver TV?

Anonymous said...

FCS (usually channel 414 on Comcast). All UND home games are televised. The picture is terrible, but TV is TV.

Anonymous said...

Thanks. Just checked and both games will be on channel 414 on Comcast/XFINITY. Go DU!!

I guess no mascot is better than having a mascot that the Native American People and citizens of the state of North Dakota voted down as offensive.

Anonymous said...

Ummm they didn't vote it down because it was offensive. They voted it down to move on since the cause was lost thanks to the NCAA.

Were not the Sioux, but guess what?!? At Magness in Feb, we are going to chant "Home of Sioux" just to piss you off. Why? Because Magness is the home of the Sioux when UND is in Denver.

Anonymous said...

Do they still do the tomahawk chop and woo, woo, woo cheer? Talk about offensive!

Anonymous said...

9.45- Really sad that all you have to look forward to is a hockey game in Feb. That said, love when the North Dakota fans pump money into DU's cash register $$$$$$$

Another tough weekend for DU. I certainly expected a different result after the losses to Yale and UNH, but give the Badgers credit--they played a good road series and deserved to leave town with 3 points. If not for DU's last minute goal on Friday, it's a sweep.

Huge challenge now with the trip to Grand Forks. DU will need to play more physical, be tougher in the corners, and create more havoc in front of the opposition's goalie this weekend.

Anonymous said...

It was too funny seeing all those hicks get worked up about losing their stupid ass logo. Poor babies...the NCAA is so mean!

Anonymous said...

Just like the DU PC police getting rid of Boone. Get over it, pussy.

Anonymous said...

It will always be home of the Sioux in Magness. Always!

Anonymous said...

All those escapees from North Dakota had to settle somewhere decent, so they all live here in Colorado...

Anonymous said...

Native Americans voted out Boone? The citizens of the entire state voted out Boone?

Nope, not the same at all.

Anonymous said...

Actually, the only Sioux tribe in North Dakota whose elders allowed a vote (The Spirit Lake Nation Sioux) voted by a wide majority to allow continued use of the "Fighting Sioux" nickname. Of course, in fulfilling their "white man's burden," the NCAA substituted its judgment for that of the collective tribal electorate's wisdom. The citizens of the state voted to eliminate use of the name to "undo" political posturing in the form of prior legislative enactments, State Board of Higher Education mandates and constitutional amendments - at the urging of the University of North Dakota - once the unelected, holier-than-thou NCAA refused to expand its hypocrisy. Unlike Florida, we could not give the Spirit Lake Fighting Sioux their casino land (a la FSU to the Seminole Nation), they already owned it! However, the Devils Lake-area tribe STILL said "keep the name of honor our forbears (their tribal chiefs, not Four Bears - that's a different triumvirate of tribes) conferred upon the University." They knew we don't "tomahawk chop," nor do we "woop, woop" a la Atlanta Braves fans. As the tribal chiefs who visited the Ralph a few years ago noted, "we do not even honor own warriors' memories as respectfully as these people do."

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the NCAA still HQ'd in INDIANapolis, INDIANa - home of the INDIANS baseball team? I am certain Myles Brand (a former INDIANa Univ. President) and his cronies would never have condoned such stereotypical labels, or been caught dead at an INDIANS ball game. Oh, wait - that's how Myles attends all his games now, isn't it? What a legacy!

BTW, the next time Gwoz "The Dasher Troll" tries to walk across our players' ice, I would almost like to see a slew foot (preferably by a Pio player!) b4 he gets far enough to make a mockery of himself and the DU he represents. However, I say "almost," because I think history has given us enough dangerous hits - both legal and illegal - over the past several years - league wide, not just this series. Don't poke a bear needlessly (ask Peter Mannino if wishes he had kept his blocker down, instead of tagging Joe Finley with it - better yet, ask Vossberg's face).

Anonymous said...

Woo, woo, woo, tomahawk chop. You're full of crap 1L. You really needs to get your facts straight about the citizens and indigenous population voting out the Sioux logo.

Anonymous said...

Anon 9:01... You are an idiot. I am sure you have done so much research on the UND logo issue. Sioux fans don't do "the chop."

Anonymous said...

I think we can all agree if the Sue fans did indeed participate in the tomahawk chop or a woo, woo, woo cheer that the mullet headed, inbred, idiots deserved to have their mascot voted out.

The game is on tv this weekend right?
