Bad Boyz: Notre Dame Hockey Player Arrested

From: USCHO.com

Notre Dame junior defenseman Jared Beers has been suspended from the team indefinitely due to an off-campus incident that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 3.

According to the South Bend Tribune, the 22-year-old Beers was booked in the St. Joseph County Jail early Monday on suspicion of battery, trespass, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Allegedly, the female manager of Brothers Bar and Grill told Beers to leave the bar after he tried to take beer from other patrons. Beers reportedly refused to leave, punched the manager in the face and then stepped on her head, face and neck when she fell to the ground and also pulled her ponytail.

During the incident, Beers left his wallet at the scene and responding officers called him to tell him they located his wallet. Once he arrived at the police station to retrieve his wallet, he was arrested.

“The university is aware of this incident and is confident that it will be handled in a prompt and professional manner through the criminal justice system,” Notre Dame spokesman Dennis Brown said in a statement.

See, there are advantages to having imaginary girl friends, drinking in imaginary bars and roughing up imaginary hostesses--you don't get suspended.

If the story is even 10% true this guy will be kicked out of school. Being suspended from the team is the least of his worries.

True or not....it's not like he threw a lawnmower.

What part of the story was blown out of proportion?

He fled the scene.

He did show up at the police station to collect his wallet.

He was arrested.

He was booked at the jail.

My understanding is that "he punched then manager then stepped on her head, face and neck when she fell to the ground and also pulled her ponytail" never happened and surveillance tapes proved it. You're a good guy DG. Check into it further. If I'm wrong, ok. If I'm right, this kid is getting smeared unnecessarily. I wouldn't want the same treatment happening to any of the Pio guys

Lets hope he didn't do it. But Notre Dame suspended him, so whatever happened was serious.

If the women lied he should sue the bar.
