Drew Shore Scores First Career NHL Goal

University of Denver alum Drew Shore scored his first NHL goal last night after the puck bounced off the Washington Capitols goaltender three times, then off Shore's stick, then off another Washington player and into the net.

The goal put Florida up 5-3 in the third period, but Washington would score two goals late to tie the game and would then win it in overtime.

Drew had a goal, assist and was +3 on the evening. He is one of the few + players on the team.

Fla. announcers really seem to like Drew's hard work.

Beau Bennett called up by Pens today and will make his NHL debut tomorrow night.

Beau is 3rd player from last year's DU team to play in the NHL. Shore and Zucker are the other 2.

The best line that never was...it's a shame. But, awesome that they've all gotten at least a taste of the NHL.

Congrats to Drew. Hopefully that is the first of many to come.
