Those are some pretty big schools above and below us.

Kudos to Jeff Hooker for building a nationally competitive program against 320+ D-I competitors - which is more teams than men's hockey, men's lacrosse. women's lacrosse and skiing combined....

The team said that they would love to see Boone come to a game.

One key to DU's rise has been Hooker's willingness to play a tough out-of-conference schedule each year including CC and CU to start the year. For as long as DU is in the very obscure Summit League that will be even more important to maintaining any sort of national profile. For this year there is one more opportunity to beat a ranked opponent - #12 BYU on the road Thur Feb 26th.

Awesome. I'm pretty sure this is the highest ranking that either of DU's soccer teams have ever had. DU women's soccer has always beat up on the competition in the conferences where they play, but it's good to see them get the national recognition. Getting to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament last year was great for the program. Beating CU 3-0 this weekend was also good. Good luck to them the rest of the season.

Very cool about girls soccer.

In case anyone hasn't noticed this, http://www.ccversusdu.com/, we alumni are getting our asses kicked by CC. I understand a lot of people are pissed at the administration and don't want to donate to DU right now, but I chose to donate to my major department that, IMO, has nothing to do with the current administration and its choices.

In fairness though, the CC video is 1000x better than the DU video. Just another example of how our marketing (especially when it comes to sports), is embarrassingly bad.

Is Peg in charge of sports marketing?

2:26, agreed on video. I don't think DU's was bad (probably more tasteful), but CC's was pretty darn funny.

DU will never beat CC in fundraising. CC people love their school far more than DU people love DU....

I supported and contributed to DU when Gwoz was coaching. Alas, DU dumped Gwoz in a catastrophic display. I've cut off my contribution and have encouraged everyone I know to do the same. CC may suck but I hope they win this juvenile fundraising/market game.

DU needs to give me a reason to contribute. Haven't seen a thing from Monty. Is he on campus or still in Dubuque? Does he support Boone? Gwoz was not only great with the players, he was welcoming to all the students and fans. Monty seems to be taking the DOPpES approach of hiding in his office. He found his office, right. I saw an article that finding his parking place and office was his top concern.
