ALERT: Men Complete Undefeated Season

DU Men's Soccer (#7) achieved an incredible feat this regular season going 13-0-3. They defeated Fort Wayne to complete a clean card for the season. This is the first time in the modern era any DU athletic team has gone undefeated during the regular season.

Summit League playoffs go through CIBER Field. The second season starts in Denver November 12th when Denver plays Western Illinois. Then, the winner faces the winner of Omaha vs. Oral Roberts game November 14th for the Summit League championship.

Congratulations!

I think DU faces Western Illinois in the Summit Semifinals.

This a huge achievement to go undefeated in soccer, where scores are low...

I'll make the update. The DU website had them facing Ft. Wayne on the Summit schedule prior to tonight's game. Thanks!

I've been to five or six home game this year, and it's been fun to watch this team develop, What strikes you when you watch the Pioneers play is the confidence they have with the ball and the passing options each player has as they move. DU is very good at ball support and creating spaces to relieve the pressure when challenged. There is a lot of structure to the Pios system, and they aren't afraid to attack 1 v 1. They have a lot of speed on the flanks to create offense, and the patience to pull the ball back and regroup when the lanes aren't there. Hanlin taking free kicks is a huge threat to any opponent.

Let's not forget that our Women's Volleyball team has gone 14-0 at home this year too!- pretty dang impressive, if you ask me. Their tourney is also here at DU (20-22 November)!! Can't wait to see both times win some more!!

We are living through a golden age of DU sports. Almost all of DU's teams are NCAA tourney-calibre teams in very recent years, except for both basketball programs. Very few other schools have that level of consistency, and when you consider DU's athletic budget, location, multiple conferences and less than 20 years as a full D-I member, it's pretty astonishing. Then you add in the academic achievements, the graduation rates and the kids who stay out of police trouble and make contributions to school and community, it's even more incredible. A lot of larger schools would like to have our levels of performance.
