Congratulation to Men's Soccer & Women's Volleyball

The men's soccer team overcame a conservative first half to take down Oral Roberts 2-0 in the Summit League championship finals. This is a huge milestone for the DU men's program.

Denver (15-0-3), the only undefeated Division 1 soccer squad, will find out its NCAA draw during the 2015 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Selection Show Monday morning at 11 a.m. MT.

In women's volleyball (25-6), the Pioneers won a critical Friday night road contest against Oral Roberts to assure at least a tie for the Summit League title. Then, UNO, tied with DU in the loss column, dropped their road contest Saturday night against IUPUI so DU won the Summit League regular season title outright. The Summit League Championships will be held at Hamilton Gym November 20th - 22nd..

LetsGoDU sends out congratulations to both teams for their outstanding seasons.

Going undefeated in soccer is a huge achievement. Yes - DU was helped by a softer Summit League, but make no mistake - DU did not lose to the four teams it played with top quartile RPIs, either. South Florida is #13, UCSB is ranked #15 in RPI, Utah Valley is #38 and San Diego is #57. DU also beat historical power house St. Louis on the road, and tied Portland on the road as well.

After all this, DU sits #17 in RPI as of this morning (Sunday), probably just out of range for a first round bye, (the top 16 get that perk) but very much in line with hosting a first round game. However, there are a few more conference tourney games to play today that may still affect DU's RPI before tomorrow selection show.

Unless a change was made from last year, it appears top 16 get a bye and first game at home. 48 teams qualify. 16 opening round games at neutral site which is in essence where the winner plays a top 16 seed 2 days later.
As a reward for being lone undefeated, I think committee gives us a seed and thus a home game no matter what.
We also have finished season as #1 or #2 in goals against average; .39 GAA AMAZING STUFF

Proud of the guys. Undefeated--can't do much better than that. Hope they do get a home game.
