The never-ending North Dakota nickname saga continues. Stakeholders were unable to marshal a 50% majority vote between Fighting Hawks, Rough Riders, and Nodaks. As a result, there will be a final round of voting between the top two contenders.
In the most recent vote, which ended Friday, Fighting Hawks received 45.69%, Rough Riders 27.95%. and Nodaks 27.95%. The top two advance.
The final vote will begin after Veterans Day and wrap up before the week of Thanksgiving.
