Its Not The Size Of The Badger In The Fight
It must be playoff time, because tempers boiled over at Wisconsin's practice today.
Near the end of the workout, senior defenseman Jeff "Tents" Likens and freshman winger Blake "Scooter" Geoffrion dropped the gloves and fought (sounds more like a purse fight). Badgers coach Mike Eaves told the rest of the team to let them go, and they traded punches (Did Eaves order the "Code Red?").
"In my history of athletics here, when you compete against each other all the time, there's a frustration level that builds up (especially when the Mighty Badgers don't get home ice)," Eaves said. "And if two young men want to do that as opposed to using sticks, I'm all for it (We know this already because Eaves had a "physical confrontation" with Alex Leavitt that had to be "settled" by the University of Wisconsin Legal Department). Because in Europe, guys will swing sticks (Euro Trash). If you want to have a good old, honest, let's clear the air here ... they were talking after practice, high-fived each other, let's go (No word if they will be dating after the season ends)."
I can't offer much of an analysis of which player won the fight because it was at the other end of the ice, but Geoffrion left the scrap without his practice jersey (For our female readers we'll let you use your imagination). At the end of the fight, the rest of the team slapped their sticks on the ice and the boards in appreciation (Actually thats the team's "secret signal" that its beers after practice at State Street Brats).
With so much on the line for the Badgers this weekend at Denver, it's probably not a bad thing for them to have high intensity.
"They've been competing since September against each other," Eaves said. "It just builds up and builds up (I have the same problem after not having sex for a week). They've been banging each other. Now we're getting ready for the playoffs and the intensity level is up. Just let them air it out. It's not a big thing at all."

CC isn't smart enough to figure out that tying DU would get them out of playing the Badgers.
