Would like to see DU step up and take points this weekend. Time to take control of the season against teams they need to beat.
Rycroft doing a great job as color analyst.
Rycroft is a great analyst - incisive, honest and passionate.
The only criticism I have of him is his use of "we" to describe the Pioneers. Even though he is a former player, it sounds a little cheesy to me to hear that on the radio.
Good home win for the Pioneers. DU did not play a smart hockey game, but they were able to get the big goal when they really needed it,
Zucker may not have much on the scoresheet but his third period set the tone with big hits and two posts.
One game down in this 10 game stretch that will certainly make or break DU's season.
I like Rycroft with Jay. Sam was excellent in goal tonight. The MSU goalie, Cook, played well too. He stoned Mermis and Drew Shore.
I miss Sandy Clough.
Good bounce back win. Now sweep em.
Not exactly a thing of beauty, but DU did just enough to win tonight against a tough Mankato team. The Pios took some lazy penalties and looked flat at times, but they generated some good scoring chances and cashed in when it mattered.
Need another W tomorrow.
Take note of #24 for Denver in your game programs, folks - that's John Ryder for you casual fans. Rides had what I thought was an outstanding performance tonight. He played really really well.
DU must find a way to cleanup these turnovers and cut down on the dumb penalties. The game is hard enough without helping the other team. Without Stonehenge slamming the door big tonight, this game could have been a loss for the Pioneers.
I love our team's work ethic, but some work must be done on the mental side of this team so they can start making things easier on themselves and harder for the other team.

Ryder is one of my favorites because he is the only defensman we have who knocks the opposition on their ass when they approach the blue line area. he plays the man instead of trying to knock the puck away which some times doesn't work.
