University of Denver recruit Scott Mayfield has a Blog over at NHL.com. He's recording his experiences this season leading up to the 2011 NHL Draft.
In his first posting he introduced himself to the hockey world and explained what it was like going from a virtually unknown St. Louis high school hockey player to playing for team USA last summer in Europe at the Ivan Hlinka tournament.
In his second posting, he details life in the USHL, which includes many long bus trips.
The Blog is a great read and provides hockey fans with an interesting glimpse into the life of a potential NHL first round draft pick.

Can't wait to see Mayfield next year. From what I've read he is big, tough, and mean. DU needs that kind of presence.
Very nice writing ability for a high school kid - he can clearly and persuasively communicate his ideas, which will help him a great deal at DU and wherever he ends up after hockey...
Mayfield has 50 minutes of penalties in his first 10 USHL games this season. Looks like we'll have a Bad Boy on the blueline next season.
