Congrats to Rhett! The Islanders misfortunes may be his good fortune.
Go get them tonight Rhett.
Go, Rhett Go!
I'd love to be there. I met his parents quite a few times during his four years here and i'm sure they will be there. First class people. Exciting time for them.
One of the things needed to stay up in the biggies is character and Rhett has a ton of that. I think he's there to stay.
Tonight's game is at 8PM EST and ie being broadcast in the NYC area on MSG+. For those of you with the NHL Center Ice package the game should be on one of its channels.
Rakhshani was called up after scoring 9 points in his last four AHL games.
Rhett is the leading scorer on the Sound Tigers with 24 points and the leading rookie scorer in the AHL.
Very impressive. Congrats Rhett! I must admit, I did not think that his game would translate that well to the pros, but his early success in the AHL has proven me wrong.
So, he was not called up due to another guy being out sick? That's pretty cool. And been a long time coming.
Thanks DU78! That's good news, I've got that hockey package. I'll pore a nice single malt and watch Rhett bury one.

Isles lost 5-0 and Rhett played 11:44. He was even for the game and did not make the score sheet except for 1 takeaway.
From Isles' game recap
"The one positive was that Islanders forward Rhett Rakhshani made his NHL debut at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. He recorded one takeaway with 11:44 of ice time and finished the game with an even plus-minus ranking.
“It’s definitely an adjustment,” Rakhshani said about his first NHL game. “It’s a lot faster (than the American League). Guys are stronger, take time away a lot quicker, but as the game got going, I felt a little more comfortable. I think I learned a little from tonight and hopefully I can take that into the next game.”
For his first game at the National level, Capuano thought Rakhshani played well.
“He played fine,” Capuano said. “He made some high percentage plays in the offensive zone. He didn’t turn many pucks over. He got the puck deep when he had to. He got in scoring areas and then went and had a few chances tonight.”
Good luck Rhett. The Islanders need your help!
Rock returned by Isles to Bridgeport yesterday.
Didn't even have time to unpack. Rakh looked around the room and asked to be sent down.
