Just as coach George Gwozdecky and his staff hoped in September, a fine group of freshmen has eliminated the University of Denver's fear of chalking up 2010-11 as a rebuilding season.

Well, the unleashing of the Mermis is just icing on the cake. That kid is an animal!!
Mermis' goal against CC was one of the best goals so far this season.
I follow Mermis each time he hits the ice. He gives it 110%! I would take him any day over someone like Colburne who didn't have his head in the game half the time.
I think if Nicky keeps up his hard work, he will finish the season very strong in points and goals.... and he could be quite a hot topic in the NHL Draft
