University of Denver men’s lacrosse sophomore Chase Carraro scored twice and was 10-of-16 on face-offs, leading the Pioneers in an 11-4 victory over Ohio State in the ECAC semifinal at Barton Stadium. The win advanced Denver to the ECAC title game on Saturday.
“A lot of credit goes to Ohio State. They battled hard all night and gave us a great challenge,” head coach Bill Tierney said. “We were able to figure things out and play the game that we know best. Fairfield will be a good match-up on Saturday and we are looking forward to it.”
Junior Alex Demopoulos had two goals and an assist for Denver (12-2). Freshman Jamie Faus had 13 saves in the win, making it his fifth-consecutive double-digit save performance. This Pioneer team seems to be getting better each game as injured players return to the lineup, and peaking in the playoffs is a good thing.
With Tierney at the helm, nobody wants to play us right now, and that's a great place to be.
All DU fans should come out and support this team.
