Crap! with all the medical people available why was he playing?Earlier post I read said it happened before the Tech series. If that is so, then someone -ucked this one up big time.Friends dad is a Dr. and said if he had a ruptured tendon, they should have known about it with an mri immediatley and that would be typical when there is a laceration.Im bummed,Beau was my favorite Pioneer ,also not to shabby play with one arm. Please heal fast,we need you!

These guys play through serious injuries all the time. I believe that seven DU players had surgery immediately after the season last year and it turned out that Brittain should of had surgery, which would of made eight. That's a third of the roster.

Needless to say these players are courageous as hell and we have no idea how banged up most of them are 90% of the time.

What? Playing through injuries is one thing ,playing with " serious " injuries is foolish .What seemed to be minor is now major.Seems basic,we screwed up.We/who told this kid after evaluating him that it would be OK to play with a ruptured tendon. Not good for Beau and our team.Stupid, stupid ,stupid!

Attention DG: May we have some good news, please? Thank you.

If there was no drama and DU just won all the time, it would be pretty boring.

That's theoretically true. However, I don't recall feeling cheated when the '67-'68 club won 28 in a row and went undefeated at home. My recollection is I rather enjoyed it. LOL

Just saw the picture. That is not a band-aid ouchy! What educated brain said oh dont worry its just a small shark bite.A little bondo and you will be fine.Whats the name of the medical school attended? For Christ sakes, even Devri would have got this right.

You armchair medical experts are hilarious. Your opinion on what the doctors should have done is so valuable. Thank you.

Expert? Just a brain! Most of us know that theres a lot of stuff happening in that small area.Thats what mris are for. When did he have one as that would be the expert needed.Basic!,athelete or not!

I have two words for anyone who misdiagnoses an injury!!

Not even funny.Should have come to CC.I know we recruited him.Never would have let it happen.Nice goal against us Beau.Get better soon.

Someone said basic.Hit it on the head.Lacerations 101- clean and close wound-order up an MRI for the experts to eval.We learn very quickly why they are so important in the medical field. If I can't get this one right,Im out.

"There's a lot of stuff happening in that small area." Qualification to speak and criticize doctors is established!

Qualification = BASIC STUFF!Just ask nubee med student. Why, who knows, but we blew it on this one.Enough with this.Speedy recovery Beau.

Perhaps they knew of the injury but posted surgery with educated thinking and Beau's wishes. Get him through the CC series, then have him sit out through the "easier" part of our schedule.

Seriously, the people critiquing this are (1) not doctors and (2) have no clue of the thought process the team went through. I'm not guaranteeing that they didn't screw this up, just saying that none of us have any clue of the decision making process and we should withhold judgement

Exactly.

DU's doctors didn't fall off turnip trucks, folks/ I am aure a lot of thought want into the games played and overall treatment plan. I'm also sure that Pittsburgh Penguins also figured into the decision as well.

Beau is in good hands, and I'm sure that a good medical decision was made - what was substandard is the way they communicated it to the media.
