Colorado Springs Gazette Cuts CC Hockey Coverage

Joe Paisley
In a cost saving move and a sign of the times, the Colorado Springs Gazette has supposedly let go Colorado College's beat writer Joe Paisley.  Joe did a great job updating the Eye of the Tiger Blog daily as well as covering CÇ hockey in great detail.

It looks like Joe will be replaced by Brian Gomez who covered the DU game on Friday night.  It remains to be seen if Gomez will cover the Tigers in the same detail.

CC fans are pretty upset about the changes if you read the "comments" in the last blog posting made on Thursday.

Best of luck to Joe in his future endeavors.

Randy May said he'd update the blog for free.

Not a good time to be in the newspaper business.

Joe was one of the few WCHA beat writers who would update daily, if only to pass along some links if he didn't have any of his own content.

Joe read a lot of fan postings in different places, and was always very informed in his coverage.

Even though he covered our rival, he did a great job.

Don’t the "townies" love the Tigers? Maybe they don’t buy a paper.

The townies need to band together and protest this here atrocity! Maybe the townies could occupy the Gazette? I'll throw in a round of coffee and donuts if they do...

The Occupy Short Bus Army of Mexico and CCtig shold lead a protest.

That's assuming the townies can read.

Shit; just buy a Denver Post - there was plenty of foaming at the mouth about the Schwartz Brothers last weekend in that paper

Is it a slow news day or something DG? Don't you have something to post about hoops? Oh wait... You did that too.

Mexico, would you please go back in your cave, no one wants you here and I guarantee you we don't care what you say or think (if you actually do that).

Well it looks I won't be spending my time on the gazette website anymore. That should give me twice as much time to troll here.

That's awful news, Mexico. Perhaps we need to start a "bring back Paisley" movement similar to Boone.
