(above) The DU student section will be rocking this weekend |
It's going to be a huge spirit weekend at the University of Denver. On Friday the "Pioneer Pregame" will have multiple student organizations setting up booths and food served by the DU Grilling Society. Friday night the students will be all dressed in white with neon accessories to confuse CC.
On Saturday the festivities start on Driscoll Green at Noon. There will be free food by DUGS, happy hour beers at the Sidelines Pub on campus and two fraternities will host lawn games. There will be stations by different student organizations and students will receive a game day shirt. At 1:30 the pep band, cheer and dance teams will help parade people over to Magness Arena for the Middle Tennessee basketball game. After the game, some students will bus to the Springs for the CC game.

And if I am not mistaken, the game is on the tube Friday night! Magness should be shakin' all Friday night. Beg, borrow or steal a ticket, it should be quite a night.

Single tickets still available in Crimson Club $40 and Upper Sides $33 online.

How many seats are in the "student allotment"? I think it would be pretty awesome if the school started selling some more of that endzone to students for big games like this, because it sounds like the demand is there.
On another note, will the DU pep band be at the game?
Yes the band will be at the game. If you can convince the administration to open more spots, students will gladly buy them.
I think normal DU student allotment is about 600-750 seats. Rarely do they all sell out. CC games are always sold out.
This game could probably draw 10,000 at the Pepsi Center, but you can't blame DU for making more revenue by keeping it at Magness.
Students should just buy the hockey season package to be assured of seats for all games. It's dirt cheap.
I believe DU students purchased 300-400 season tickets at the campout.
I guess if you want CC tickets you have to buy season tickets. Seems fair enough.
Hopefully there should plenty of seats available for students at the Hoops game on Saturday, which may end up being a bigger deal with ESPN2 on campus.
Check out Craigslist for tickets there are some for sale on there as well and much cheaper than the Gold or Crimson club tix! Few people are selling some pretty good seats too!
You old folks can stay home and watch on tv or listen on the radio. Maybe even post on the USCHO scoring page if you can keep the old hard drive up. The rest of us are going to party. Go DU!!!!
