With a nickname that fits nicely as his middle name, sophomore goalie Sam "Great" Brittain offers the University of Denver a chance. Only eight regular-season games remain, and the Pioneers are on the bad side of the NCAA Tournament bubble.
They must be great the rest of the way to qualify for a fifth consecutive bid to the NCAAs, and the 6-foot-3 Brittain — who has played in just two games since returning from major knee surgery in the offseason — is capable of putting this talented but injury-prone team on his shoulders.
