The University of Denver and Nebraska-Omaha skated to a 3-3 tie on Saturday night at Magness Arena.  DU goaltender Jussi Olkinuora improved his record to 7-1-4 on the season.

Zac Larraza, Shawn Ostrow & Paul Phillips scored for DU.

DU remains tied for first place in the WCHA with UNO but eight teams remain within two wins of first place.  The Gophers, North Dakota & St. Cloud State have two games in hand and are just one or two points out of first place.

What's the word on the UNO player who got injured? He has a real long name. We sit right behind the benches; and there was quite a bit of panic when they carried him off into the tunnel, from the UNO staff and even the DU trainers. He was inadvertently taken out at center ice by his own guy, too. Hope the lad is alright.
We had fun tonight, even though we watched the Broncos' season end, right there in the Magness lobby - before I could even hardly sip my first of 4 Molsons. Good, productive weekend for Mayfield and Doremus - and refreshing to have someone else kicked out other than #2. See you guys at the CC game.

Phillips first goal of the season was spectacular.

Juho came back to earth last night but still played well down the stretch.

All 3 UNO goals came off turnovers. Two of 'em were unassisted. 'Nuff said. "Viva" Larraza continues to develop and impress. He was our best forward on the weekend, and not just because of his scoring. DU has clawed its way back into contention in the legue. A long, tough conference schedule left. But they've got a shot.
