The University of Denver men's basketball team crushed Texas-Arlington 84-55 on Thursday night at Magness Arena. Denver is one step closer to a first-place tie in the WAC.
Meanwhile down in Las Cruces, New Mexico State stunned Louisiana Tech 78-60 to set up a WAC showdown in Magness Arena on Saturday night at 5 PM.
Chris Udofia led DU with 21 points, while Brett Olson had 18 points.
If the Pioneers can beat Louisiana Tech this weekend, the two teams would need to use RPI to determine which team gets the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

Hard to see DU passing Louisiana Tech in RPI.
DU is #64 and La Tech is #48 after tonight's games.
DU moved up six spots last night after the win and La Tech fell nine spots with the loss.

Got my ticket for Saturday's game. Should be a good one.
Denver won't pass LaTech in RPI. rpiforecast.com projects Denver to finish around #55 with a win, and LaTech around #45 with a loss. That prediction has been consistent for several weeks, for what would happen if DU wins out and LaTech loses its last two. I don't see anything changing it at this late date.
It's a shame the WAC doesn't use KenPom. Denver would be golden then.
