Pios down 7 with under 8 mins to go. Texas St keeps rallying every time DU gets it under 10. This would be a major letdown if we don't have a comeback.
Have you noticed how all the local media shows the DU Jelly Donut logo, and not the interlock or the curved Denver logo? Every one I've seen on the local news channels, all shows that hawk donut thing
Well, that NCAA dream didn't last long. DU buries a couple late 3's to keep it close, but loses by 4. Coach Scott was saying that DU deserved to be in the tourney...I guess not.
Bummer. Was only following the twitter link above, but DU seemed to give it everything they had (made a lot of shots at the end), but they had to keep fouling Texas State and they seemed to make almost all of the free throws.
All in all, a great and historic season for DU. Congrats to the team on a great season.
I'd call it a good season, winning the WAC and all. Not a great season, though. You only get so many opportunities to break into the NCAA tournament. This was a golden opportunity, and to lose in the first round of the WAC tournament = laying an egg.
Damn, tough tough loss for DU. Have to credit Texas State--a team that was 11-21 overall and 5-13 in the league came in and shot 66%, beat DU on the boards and led the whole game. Brutal. The magical run is over, just like that.
DU hoops is making a lot of progress, but it's a process. Today is a big disappointment, but Scott certainly has the program going in the right direction.
In my view, this is one of the toughest losses in DU athletic history. I would rank this along with the hockey loss to Michigan (at Michigan) when we the #1 seed. Very tough loss1

I haven't been this stoked about college basketball in a long time. How great would it be if DU finds itself in the big dance!? Go Pioneers!!

Underway now. Go Pios!!
I gather the game isn't televised?
There is a WAC feed, but I think it costs $. Haven't heard of any TV. DU down 36-32 at the half.
Texas State shooting 65%--that needs to change. D needs to stiffen up. Pios shooting 38% and only down by 4.

Looking like an early round exit is quite possible. Hopefully they can come up with some magic in the last few minutes.
within 3 at the under 4 min mark. Go DU!

Not much you can do when the other team shoots 66% from the field.
Next year, DU has 4 of 5 starters returning and a 6-9 transfer from Xavier coming in. I like our chances in the Summit.
