That huge sigh of relief emanating in Colorado Springs last night was Coach Montgomery. The University of Denver finally didn't lose a game in overtime.
DU scored in the final two minutes of regulation after lifting goalie Sam Britan to knot the score at 1-1. Joey LaLeggia tallied the lone Pioneer goal.
After suffering four 3-2 overtime losses to start the season, including two last weekend against Nebraska-Omaha, DU managed to "win" the game via a shootout. Nationally & in regards to the Gold Pan, the game will count as a tie, but Denver picks up an extra point in the NCHC standings.

Interesting that none of the game stories mentioned anything about the shootout. Both DU shots taken by defensemen.
1). CC Charlie Taft - Saved DEN Brittain
1). Goal - DEN Joey LaLeggia
2). CC Alexander Krushelnyski - Saved DEN Brittain
2). Goal - DEN David Makowski
Please read the second paragraph again. Thanks. Joe
I stand corrected.
Both the Gazette & USCHO.com mentioned the shootout scorers.
Thanks joe.
CC has a player named Sam Rothstein. Last I heard he was running the Tangiers Hotel in Vegas in the movie Casino.
