A passage from Charles Dickens in A Tale of Two Cities from 1859 held true in St. Louis and Denver last night. The streaking 15th-ranked DU men's soccer team jolted St. Louis University, 1-0, ending the Billikin's 14 game home unbeaten streak. Meanwhile, the DU women's soccer "goalless streak" moved to a stunning eight games in a 2-0 loss to Villanova.
LGDU will be exploring ideas on how to stop 'the streak' before the women play Portland at home on Saturday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m..
(And yes, we are keeping the fortune teller - she's good for business.)

Correction: Redemption can come this Sunday against Utah Valley at home. Stop the streak!!!
Utah Valley is the men's game on Sunday
On the road...so thanks for the correction to the correction!
The Utah Valley game is lining up as a big one. UVU is 6-1 on the season so far and beat DU in Utah last season 2-1, so the Pios will be looking for revenge.
It's also the first home game for the DU men since the students were back on campus, so I expect a solid fan turnout.
Good luck to men's soccer tonight. Very impressive, not only the #15 ranking, but beating St. Louis in St. Louis, snapping their 18(?) game home win streak. Great start for the new coach, hope he can sustain it. If they can stay in the top 10-15 throughout the rest of this season, it could put the program on the map and bring some higher profile recruits to keep them on the map.
Great to see the blog back up and running!
